Alex had a little stomach bug on the day of his birthday party, so we saved his cake for his actual birthday. Mom and Dad sung "Happy Birthday" as Alex indulged in his cake. Being a former event planner, my thought to bring in the napkin from Alex's party to be matched to the cake was a decent idea...however, I soon realized, blue frosting should be outlawed. Alex looked like he swallowed a smurf.
All in all it was a fun time, but noted for next year...no blue frosting! Although our good friend, Mrs. Grask, would have been proud of Alex's new found love of frosting...
